What is PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana?
PM Surya Ghar is the central government scheme that subsidises residential rooftop solar so households can generate their own electricity and cut their bills. It applies across Rajasthan, including every JVVNL area in and around Jaipur, and is paid directly to your bank account after installation.
How much subsidy will I get?
The subsidy is fixed by system size:
- Up to 2 kW: ₹30,000 per kW
- 3rd kW: ₹18,000 for that additional kilowatt
- 3 kW and above: capped at ₹78,000 total
Example: a 3 kW system — the most common size for a Jaipur home — qualifies for the full ₹78,000 subsidy, which comes straight off your net cost.
Eligibility
- You are a residential electricity consumer and own the rooftop.
- You have a valid JVVNL (or local discom) connection in Rajasthan.
- The system is grid-connected and installed by a registered vendor like Maahaveer Energy Saver.
